Walnut Creek Country Club
Walnut Creek Country Club was founded in 1974 and acquired by Club Corporation a few years later. The club is located in the heart of Mansfield Texas surrounded by homes that were built in the early 1970s all the way to newer construction up to 2008. Dues for a full golf membership begin at the 270 dollar a month range and go up from there. Walnut Estates is the primary community that has the majority of the home lots the golf course.Walnut Estates is a custom home community with prices ranging from $300,000 all the way up to $1,800,000. The Fairways of Walnut Creek is a custom home community with newer homes that range between $350,000 through $700,000.There are also a few other pocket communities with golf course lots as well and the price points vary.The club has gone through a face lift in the last few years with additions of a newer dining facility, a miniature golf course with family fun outdoor games, a family friendly grill with outdoor dining and new resurfaced tennis courts.
Golf Courses
The club has two full 18 hole facilities. The Pecan Course was first and the majority of the homes surrounding this golf course were built from the mid-1970s all the way to the late 1990s. The Pecan is a very tight and challenging course where you will need both length and distance to score well.
The Oaks is termed the members course due to the layout and the option of different skill levels depending on the tees selected. The homes surrounding the The Oaks are newer and range from the 1980s all the way to the 2000s. Homes on The Oaks tend to be a little more expensive. There is an optional HOA however not mandatory in the majority of the subdivisions. One of the subdivisions is a private gated community.

The Golf Course
The golf course was designed by Colligan Golf and more specifically John Colligan and the majestic 235 acre golf course features Bermuda fairways and Tiff Dwarf Bermuda putting surfaces. The Championship tees provide a challenging 6,850 yards and from the Ladies tees the golf course will play 5263 yards. There are membership options avaiable that can reduce your pay for play based on the frequency of rounds played during the year. The golf course is right in the middle of Mansfield National, a home community that was primarily built by Grand Homes. The neighborhood was buily in 2 sections and the homes are newer with construction ranging from 2000 through 2012 with close out construction currently finishing in the community. The price points range between $180,000 all the way up to $375,000 with golf course lots bringing premium pricing as there are not many avaialble throughout the year.
Mansfield National is an18-hole course that has a par 72 layout. The golf course is designed on 235 acres of rolling fairways and some challenging trees to challenge even the most advanced player. The golf course also features Low Branch Creek. The creek works its way through the course providing some very challenging shots on many of the golf course holes. The course is rated 72.7 with a slope of 128 from the back tees and is rated 69.4/119 from the middle tees and is rated 70.2/116 from the ladies tees.
Amenities
A 4,000 square-foot clubhouse features Southwest architecture and a Western motif interior. Inside is a snack bar with seating for up to 80 people, as well as a fully-stocked golf shop featuring all of the latest products from Nike, Taylor Made, Wilson and a plethora of other golf suppliers of merchandise. A full length driving range and putting and practice facilities are available as well. Gold clinics are held and details are in the pro shop.
