Arlington Museum of Art:

The Arlington Museum of Art prides itself on it's well known Texas Art. The museum is only open for display on July 14th through September 17th. Within those three months, it is restricted to opening on only Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 A.M. till 5:00 P.M. The Arlington Museum of Art plays host to a variety of education programs. These programs are for both children and adults. For between $10.00 and $25.00, adults and children can choose an art class to take.

The Arlington Museum of Art encourages young artists. The museum provides a venue of workshops and educational classes. They have art classes such as flower arranging and paper-making. They have separate adult and child art classes. They also have family art classes. The museum is a strong encourager of creative thought throughout the various community programs. The museum collaborates with various cultural organizations to support equal expression. The museum also has connections to other arts such as music, film, literature and dance.

 

The Gallery at the University of Texas:


This particular gallery is free of charge. It is open for public viewing everyday except Sunday. Students are free to come and go as they like. However, visitors must acquire parking permits in order to park on campus. Visitors can also park at Maverick Garage or in front of a park meter. It is easy to obtain a park pass, free daily passes are to be gotten from the Parking Office. The Gallery has a variety of events and exhibits.

The Gallery is located at the north end of the Fine Arts Building. All Gallery events are free and welcome guests. The Museum is open Monday through Friday, the hours ranging from 10:00 A.M. till 5:00 P.M. The Gallery is open Saturday from noon till 5:00 P.M.

Johnnie High's Country Music Revenue:

 Johnnie High's Country Music Revenue is held weekly in the Arlington Music Hall. It is located in the center of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. There is a first class family show every Saturday night. The show was created in 1974 by Johnnie High. He purchased an old movie theater and turned it into a 1,200 seat auditorium. This is now the permanent home of the show. The show has been a hit for 33 years. There is are eight singers in the cast. There is a band of professional, skilled musicians.

The show introduces at least 20 or 25 new performers each and every month. There are a variety of different themed shows. For example, they have 50's shows, Gospel concerts, and Incredible Kids. Country music fans come from all over to see shows at Johnnie High's Country Music Revenue. It has had many now famous singers stroll through the doors. Singers such as Leann Rimes, Lee Ann Womack, Box Car Willie, as well as many others have performed at the revenue. The revenue also has a weekly show that is viewable on RFD-TV. Direct TV and Dish Network.

Shows can be seen on television on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Auditions are held for spots on the show every month. Tickets are fairly priced at $16.00 for main floor tickets and $13.00 for balcony seats. Group rates are available for groups of 20 or more adults with only one person handling tickets. The symphony at Arlington is a life enhancing experience. Concerts at the symphony are extremely educational and have an astounding cultural value. The symphony is a light of inspiration and entertainment in the growing and diverse community of Arlington. It is very active in the community, involving citizens as well as organizations through music concerts and symphonies. The symphony plays such classics as Beethoven, Mahler, and some Mozart. The symphony also holds jazz concerts that fuse the diverse cultures of the world and the skill and talent of the musicians.

The Symphony at Arlington has a very friendly atmosphere. They encourage guests to have a good time even if they didn't want to go in the first place. Guests can come in and have a seat at any time of arrival. However, if you want to be in with the audience leaders, you must arrive before the music begins. There is no particular dress code, it is advised to dress comfortably. There are also many dining options located around the Symphony at Arlington.
